Early Childhood in Colorado

Early childhood is a critical time in children and families’ lives that lays the foundation for a better beginning from birth to kindergarten and beyond. Today, Colorado’s fragmented early childhood system makes it difficult for families and providers to create the quality early childhood experiences children need to thrive. But it doesn’t have to stay this way.

House Bill 22-1295 for Better Beginnings

With the passage of House Bill 22-1295, Colorado will advance the work of the Early Childhood Leadership Commission’s (ECLC) unanimously approved recommendations to help families and providers give Colorado children the best start in life.

The Coalition for Better Beginnings

With support from families and advocates, community-based organizations, elected officials and public and private early childhood providers, the Coalition aims to ensure the new Department of Early Childhood provides the easiest, most accessible system to set all children and families up for a lifetime of opportunity.
